1 Trekking and Mountaineering

It offers both basic and advance courses in mountaineering .

2 Skiing

In winter the enthusiasts head to Uttaranchal for some of the best skiing in India . Uttaranchal’s large slopes get covered in  snow every winter and are ideal for skiing.Auli ,Munsiari ,Dayara Bugyal and Mundali are the state’s skiing destinations.Auli has three kilometers long slope ranging from a height of 2519 meters .A500 meters long ski lift carries skiers back to the top of the slope , saving them both trouble and time .Instruction as well as equipment is available though you’re welcome to bring your own .

3 Whitewater rafting

Fed by numerous streams , icy mountain rivers speed along tortuous boulder-strewn beds, cutting deep gorges and breaking into white rapids .Whitewater stretches of every conceivable in Uttaranchal, from the simply easy to the truly challenging .In Garhwal, the Ganga offers opportunities for both professionals and amateurs to test their mettle among the rocks and rapids. The Alaknanda and Bhagirathi are the main tributaries of the Ganga  and meet at Devprayag . Their waters are of Grade IV to V , for the expert. Downstream from Devprayag. The Ganga changes into a pool-drop river .This stretchof almost seventy kilometres is perfect for amateurs . Sandy beaches line the river at intervals , allowing river rafters to pull up alongside .Thirty kilometres upstream from Rishikesh is Shivpuri ,from where whitewater rafting expeditions down the Ganga operate from October through May . Also in Garhwal, the river Yamuna , Bhagirathi , Bhilangana and Mandakni offer a variety of professional and tourist stretches .

In Kumaon  the Kali and Gori rivers meet at Jauljibi where the water volume increases , offering adventure to professionals . For over 117 kilomitres from Jaulgibi to Tanakpur the rapids are Grade IV and more .
