1 Banjhakri Water Fall Park
Banjhakri Water Falls might be your first site seeing attraction as it figures on the list of top attractions of Gangtok in tour operators list.The place will take around one and a half hour to visit.At this place you will find water falls, beautiful landscapes and well laid out trails to wander about.
The road from the Gangtok to the Banjhakri Water Fall is currently under construction and will take about 30 minutes to reach.It is the highest water fall (100 feet) in Gangtok.
2 Gonjang Monastry
The colourful and historical Gonjang Monastery is the next best place to be when in Gangtok.The complex apart from the monastery also has monk residence, butter lamp house and courtyard for sight seeing spectacular valleys and hills of Gangtok.You must not miss this place.
The place is very near to Tashi View Point and will take around 15-20 minutes visit this attraction.
3 Tashi Viewpoint
You can have the best view of Kanchenjunga mountain from the top of Tashi View point . There is a souvenir shop here as well. Early morning visit with a clear sky is the best to get an unobstructed view. Few eateries are located beginning of the ascend to the top.
4 Plant Conservatory
The Plant Conservatory is relatively new attraction which was opened in 2015.The flora park hosts a wide range of creepers , trees and rare plants of Himalayas.The place is beautiful with rocks, ponds, bridges and surrounding greenery at the backdrop of Himalayas make it good for photo shoots.
5 Ganesh Tok
It’s a Lord Ganesh temple located on a hill top. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs to get to the top .The attraction is in proximity to Tashi View Point and offers good view from the top.The place is well maintained but crowdie.There is a souvenir shop at the summit as well.
6 Hanuman Tok
The Lord Hanuman Temple is another famous place in Gangtok City.It is managed by Indian Army.It is believed that Lord Hanuman took rest for some moment while bringing Sanjivani from HimalayaThis place offers a scenery of the mountains and total time to visit this place is around 15-20 minute.
7 Gangtok Ropeway
For the first timers Gangtok Ropeway is a nice adventure attraction in Gangtok town.The panoramic view of the city can be witnessed from this cable car cabin which can accommodate 12-15 people.The 1 km ride is from Deorali Market to Tashiling point.
The ropeway timings are from 8 AM to 4:30 PM (depends on winter/summer).The tariff for adult is Rs 50 while kids below 6 years are charged Rs 30.The Gangtok Ropeway has no arrangement for seating inside the cabin.Also there is a huge rush at the ticket counter.
