Nainital is 6 hours away from New Delhi  and is a popular hill station  nearest to Delhi.The best thing about this place is that you can directly approach this place via a train which drops you at Kathgodam some 22 Kilometres away  from the hill town.There are direct buses to Nainital but trains have always been a less tiring journey.

Naini Lake & Naina Devi Temple

With ducks swimming all around the lake , backdrop of mystic mountains and colourful boats in the water it is a not to miss attraction.

A religious and popular Hindu temple ‘Naina Devi’ in a pristine location delivers brilliant view of the hill station.You can have a nice panoramic view of lake and area from this temple.

Golu Devta Temple

Golu Devta Temple is a unique temple in Ghorakhal 4 kms from Bhowali area of Nainital (16 km from Nainital) .It is also famous as “Temple of bells”.Number of bells in different sizes and shapes are hanging in the temple premises.

You get find some awesome views of the mountains from the temple situated on a hill top.Bollywood films like Madhumati (1958) and Vihah(2006)  had some scenes shot in this temple.The 12th century temple made of white marbles has 57 stairs.

There is famous belief that Golu Devta delivers instant justice to the devotees . The people visit this temple to make the wishes and after the fulfillment of their wishes, offer bells and sacrifice animals to Golu Devta.

Very near to this temple is one of the first Sainik Schools to be built in India in 1966 in an area of 500 Acre of Ghorakhal Estate.

Hanuman Garhi Giant Statue of Lord Hanuman

Hanuman Garhi Temple which has a giant statue of Lord Hanuman in Nainital is 3 kms away from the Nainital city.The temple was built by Neem Karoli Baba in around 1950.The place offers magnificent sun set & valley view.

The 52 feet Idol of Hanumanji touching the sky and the artificial caves in the Temple is uniqueness of this point.The complex is maintained by Bhakti Dham  (http://www.spiritualguru.in) devoted to Mauni Mai.

They have an ashram which offers free (nominal charges) stay to those devotees who come here to devote themselves to sadhana, meditation, seva and satsang.

Paragliding Point

Paragliding takes place near Naukhiatal area of Bhimtal.After the take-off the passenger enjoys epic scenery and joy of flying.You are picked up from the descending point and taken back to the jump point by the operators

Even taking pictures is not a problem as they have action camera for flight video.

A normal flight time is around 3-10 minutes for which you need to spend RS 1500.The better the wind condition the best flight you can get.They allow people with a weight between 15-80 Kgs.The activity takes place between 9-4 PM.Eagle

Bara Pathar Horse Riding

A visitor coming to Nainital should not miss the joy of horse riding near Barapathar. The Horses can be hired at stand.The horse journey will let you visit different peaks of Nainital including view of Khurpatal.

It is a peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The top point of this trek is the Tiffin Top where during the colonial era school  kids used to come and had a tiffin break here.

As the forest is attached to Jim Corbett National Park on the other side occasional presence of Leopards and Tigers makes the journey more adventurous.
