Nokia has recently launched Nokia C3 in C series segment. It is a simple phone with a non-touch screen and QWERTY Keyboard .This soft touch keypad phone allows the user to type easy and has been made available in white, pink and grey colors.

A QWERTY KEYBOARD PHONE

C3 is slim in appearance and easy to use with 2.4 inch display with QWERTY keyboard.The 114g phone is 115.5mm X 58.1 mm in length and width respectively.The C3 phone runs on Symbian OS series platform.They are two contextual keys - accept/reject call keys and D-pad keys.

MULTIMEDIA FEATURES

The speakerphones of Nokia C3 with 3.5mm audio jack allow the user to listen to the audio files such as WAV, WMV, MP3, eAAC+.stereo FM radio with RDS make the users to have a connect with the radio Stations. Though the speaker is of average strength the sound is clear but the volume is low even at maximum settings.The volume can be changed by pressing the D-pad up and down.One can store unlimited phone contacts and call records using the 55 megabyte of internal memory.

DATA TRANSFER FEATURES

Bluetooth and microUSB v2.0 allow us to connect with the other Bluetooth device.The user can interact with the social networking site easily by means of 32 GPRS and 32 EDGE network.It includes features like stereo widening, equalizer, repeat and shuffle.

MESSAGING

Regarding the messages the gadgets accepts standard type of text messages, MMS 1.3 .it supports POP3, SMTP, IMAP4 protocols.OVi mail and OVi store support.

CAMERA

The camera comes with 2 megapixel resolution capable of capturing the images up to 1600 by 1200 pixels.The images are satisfactory for picture messaging.Micro SD memory card supports up to 8GB.Absence of secondary camera is a drawback.

APPLICATIONS/GAMES

Calenders, converters, calculator, voice recorder, remainder alarm options are available in nokia C3.Sound alert type vibrations and MP3 ringtones.The phonebook is customizable that allow for picture ID and ringtones to be attached to the contacts.Preinstalled java games namely bounce tales, Sudoku, block’d are present.It provides 7 hours of talk time and 792 hours of standby time.

DRAWBACKS

Absence of 3G capability seems a drawback as we saw many low cost phones are now even enabled with this important feature. Data transfer speed seems relatively slow.The quality of the camera resolution is not so good with mere 2.0 mega. Absence of LED flash and autofocus and multitasking capability may disappoint some buyers.There is no document viewer in this phone .The video player does not worth too much as the display is of small in size and it recognizes low number of codecs.

VERDICT

Nokia C3 is a low segment phone with price of  Rs.5500 (approx) so you can not expect too many features that you may , otherwise , find in high price phone.But features like QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity etc definitely makes  it a phone to buy if you are seeking a simple phone.
