Lenovo IdeaPad V460 review

V460 Ideapad laptop by LenovoThe recently launched Lenovo IdeaPad V460 weighing 4.85 lbs, is in the markets for sale now. The 14 inch laptop is great for home based functioning and is roping in active responses from the prospective buyers. The laptop comes in with many features to boast off with not a very high price tag attached to it which makes it all the more coveted.

Core i3 processor

The V460 Ideapad laptop is powered with 2.26 GHz Intel Core i3 processor. The processor can however be upgraded to Intel Core i5-430M. The DDR3 RAM of the laptop has a capacity of 4 GB and a HDD capacity of 320 GB sufficient enough to run the operating system smoothly.

Pre-loaded with Win7

The laptop comes with a basic operating system, that is, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit not giving out many features for business purposes. The screen display is glossy with 1366x768 back lit LED screen. The Video Card loaded in the system is NVIDIA GeForce 310M 512 MB and the integrated GPU is Intel HD.

The laptop gives 1.3 Mega Pixel in-built web cam, not quite sufficient as far as picture clarity is concerned, as other laptops in the market outshine Lenovo IdeaPad V460 in terms of video clarity while video chatting. The laptop could have fared better if the web cam mega pixel clarity would have been higher.

Ports and Graphics

Lenovo Ideapad V460 Other usual features include a DVD burner, microphone and stereo speakers which are not surprising in their performance as compared to other laptops, but aren’t disappointing either. 802.11n Wi-Fi is installed in the system along with Bluetooth.

As far as the ports go, 3 USB ports and one HDMI Port have been given with port locking facility. Gigabit Ethernet with an Express Card Slot has also been given. The 4 in one media card reader gives the required flexibility of card reading for the user. A VGA output for better viewing has been given with graphics that are switchable.

Biometrics Protection

Security measures have well been taken care of by Lenovo by providing finger print reader with Bio Excess Data Encryption.Comfort of the users has been given due importance by Lenovo. Palm rest facility alongside the keyboard and the touch pad has been given.

The touch pad is sensitive enough to feel the little taps and multi gestures. The top portion of the laptop has been made of aluminium but as far as the other parts are concerned they are made of plastic durable enough.

Battery Life

The 6 cell battery backup is good enough giving a backup support of about four hours which is quite good when the user is outdoors. Four hours of his work goes uninterrupted without the electricity supply.

Over All..

The Lenovo IdeaPad V460 is something to check out definitely, if you are looking for a simple laptop with good memory and a battery backup to use at home or even outdoors and for business purposes
